CBDA: “Your Future Begins!”

The newly formed Capiz Basketball Development Association (CBDA), was organized last August 2011, by most of the basketball enthusiasts in Roxas City and province of Capiz to discover young talents and develop aspiring cagers as well as to promote basketball in preparation for the future basketball competitions such as Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA), Western Visayas Regional Private School Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) and the Philippine University Games (UNIGAMES).

CBDA loomed as the basketball hub of Capiz province as the newly formed basketball association united for a common cause in attaining the thrust for the betterment of basketball program in Capiz that once recognized in the hard court during the province hey days.

The CBDA officers and members believed that a formidable “Team Capiz” in the future will be assembled under the tutelage of this organization as a competitive five playing for glory and feat for every CapizeƱos.

CBDA inaugurals


A total of 23 teams from both public and private schools in Roxas City and province of Capiz responded to participate in the inaugural tournament of the Capiz Basketball Development Association (CBDA) dubbed as ““Inter-School Basketball Tournament,” featuring 13 schools in the 12 year-old and under, while 10 schools in the 17 year-old and under.

This event is expected to draw the participation of young and promising cagers in cooperation of the Department of Education (DepEd), both from the Roxas City Division and the Division of Capiz, with the support of Capiz tri-media.

Among the teams in 12-under category were Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion (CPC), Saint John College (SJC), Capiz Commercial School (CCS), Filamer Christian University (FCU), President Manuel Roxas Memorial School (PMRMS)—North, PMRMS—South, Culasi Elementary School, Dumolog Elementary School, Lawaan Elementary School, Plaridel West Elementary School, Plaridel East Elementary School, Rufina A. Santos Memorial School, Antonio Villasis Memorial School and Katipunan Village Elementary School.

In the 17-under category, these include CPC, SJC, FCU, Saint Mary’s Academy of Capiz (SMAC), Capiz National High School (CNHS), Congressman Ramon A. Arnaldo High School (CRAAHS), Tanque National High School (TNHS), Dumolog National High School (DNHS), Don Ynocencio Del Rosario National High School (DYRNHS), and Roxas City School for Philippine Craftsmen (RCSPC).
